A 155mm Caesar SPG was eliminated in Kursk Region, several kilometers from the border, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has said
Moscow’s forces have destroyed a French-made self-propelled howitzer (SPG) used by Ukraine in Kursk Region, the Russian Defense Ministry has said, releasing a video of the strike.
In a statement on Friday quoted by TASS news agency, the ministry said a Russian reconnaissance drone had spotted a 155mm Caesar SPG near the settlement of Nikolayevo-Daryino, several kilometers from the border.
Officials added that the drone operator had relayed the coordinates of the SPG to Russian artillery, which then conducted a precise strike on its position. “The fact that the target was hit was confirmed by means of objective control: an intense fire was recorded at the location of the enemy’s gun,” the statement read.
High-altitude footage shared by the ministry shows what appears to be the howitzer, escorted by another vehicle, driving quickly down the road, pulling into the side, and moving deeper into the woods. Moments later, a powerful explosion occurs in the forest, sending plumes of smoke into the air.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry reported the destruction of another Caesar, this time in Donbass, adding that it had been hit by a kamikaze drone.

Ukraine launched its large-scale incursion in Russia’s Kursk Region early last month, with the attack being supported by Western-supplied armor. While Kiev made some initial progress, Moscow has said that the advance was halted, estimating Ukrainian losses at more than 10,000 troops and almost 800 armored vehicles since the start of the attack.
