‘The Honest View’ aims to promote best practices in journalism
Applications are being accepted from foreign entities and journalists for an international media competition to be held in Russia. ‘The Honest View’ aims to promote best practices in journalism, as well as discovering and popularizing stories covering Russia’s activities abroad.
Media outlets and independent journalists and bloggers from countries neighboring Russia, as well as from across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and the Americas have until September 25 to submit their stories, the competition’s website states.
The contest accepts reports published in print media, social media, and online, as well as television and radio, and in any language.
Among the categories are documentaries, materials on social and humanitarian issues, and cultural partnerships forged by Russia abroad, as well as reports by young journalists. An award will also go to the best ‘cock-and-bull’ story containing the “most odious” falsehoods, distortions of facts, and false stereotypes about Russia.
