Lancet makes precision strike on enemy artillery vehicle in Kursk Region
The Russian Defense Ministry has released a video of a Lancet drone destroying a Ukrainian truck-mounted mortar somewhere in Russia’s Kursk Region.
Kiev sent thousands of troops and dozens of vehicles across the border earlier this month, hoping to divert Russian reserves. Moscow responded by hunting down the intruders and pressing the offensive in Donbass.
The ten-second video released on Thursday afternoon shows a Lancet striking the mobile artillery platform parked on a street of a civilian village. An armored car right behind the truck is also hit.
A Russian reconnaissance drone captured the moment of impact and the resulting destruction of the vehicle, while several Ukrainian soldiers scattered into nearby houses.
Moscow has published dozens of videos showing the destruction of Ukrainian tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, artillery and air defense launchers over the past two weeks. Among the targets have been Stryker armored vehicles of US manufacture, as well as HIMARS rocket artillery.
The Lancet is a loitering munition developed by a subsidiary of Kalashnikov Concern. It debuted at the 2019 Army expo in Moscow and was first used in Syria the following year. Moscow has dramatically scaled up its production during the Russia-Ukraine conflict and used it on the battlefield to take out even the most modern Western-made vehicles donated to Kiev.
