“Texas Will Not Back Down”: Gov. Abbott Slams Supreme Court Order, Reportedly Installs More Razor Wire
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott hit back against the Supreme Court’s Monday ruling allowing Biden’s Border Patrol to cut razor wire that the state had installed along the US-Mexico boarder, while a broader lawsuit over the wire plays out.
“The Texas National Guard continues to hold the line in Eagle Pass,” Abbott posted on X Tuesday morning, adding “Texas will not back down from our efforts to secure the border in Biden’s absence.”

“Texas’ razor wire is an effective deterrent to the illegal crossings Biden encourages. I will continue to defend Texas’ constitutional authority to secure the border and prevent the Biden admin from destroying our property,” Abbott’s said in an initial response on Monday, after the Supreme Court granted an emergency appeal from the Biden administration.
In response to the ruling, Texas is reportedly installing more razor wire.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton also chimed in after Monday’s ruling.
“The Supreme Court’s temporary order allows Biden to continue his illegal effort to aid the foreign invasion of America,” he said in a statement. “The destruction of Texas’s border barriers will not help enforce the law or keep American citizens safe. This fight is not over, and I look forward to defending our state’s sovereignty.”

According to the Biden Department of Homeland Security, the razor wire impacts Border Patrol agents’ ability to help migrants in need, and complicates the apprehension of migrants.
Rep. Clay Higgins also slammed the Supreme Court, writing on X: “the feds are staging a civil war, and Texas should stand their ground.”
